Today a man was jailed for using a false identity. Christopher Edward Buckingham stole the identity from the birth certificate of a dead baby in 1983. He used the same methods to steal the identity as the character in Frederic Forcyth’s “the day of the jackal”.
Police have absolutely no idea who he is as he refuses to reveal his true identity. Not only that, he was married for 13 years and has two children, and neither his wife or children had any idea about the deception. His children now face an uncertain future as no one knows what nationality they truly are. Their mother is Canadian, so if it is found that their father is not brittish, they could have their Brittish passports revoked.
When they interviewed his ex-wife on the radio tonight she said she had no idea that her husband wasn't who he said he was, "after all" she said, "it's not really something you think about to ask your husband, are you really who you say you are?"
so how did they work out that he's not who he sayd he is?
apparently it was noticed when he tried to board a ferry fro callay. Some documentation he had with him had a coat of arms on it which was attributed to one lord buckingham. It was revealed that no one had permission to use this coat of arms since some time in the 1700's. It was therefore believed that the passport had been obtained fraudulantly, he was allowed to board the ferry to kent, the police were alerted, and he was arrested when he reached this country.
The really sick fact was that he stole the identity of a dead baby! People like that should be shot!
there is never proof that people who they say they are! apart from there birth certifficates and records
Better he take the identity of a dead baby, then someone who's currently alive, and fuck there entire lives over, ruin there credit, and such.
BG is right to an extent, this man, as far as is known, didn’t defraud anyone. It’s actually not uncommon for people who want to change their identity to take the identity of a dead child. All you need to do is go to a cemetery, find the grave of a child whose date of birth is similar to yours, and once you have the date of birth you can apply for the birth certificate. It’s easier to use a child’s identity because the child will not have national insurance number or social security number, dependent on where you live. His description and DNA has been circulated to police forces around the world, and thus far, it doesn’t appear that he has committed any serious offence. So I guess what one should wonder really, what could have been so terrible in his life that he had to create a whole new identity. Unless he committed a serious crime, I guess one should have some sympathy for him really.
maybe he's like this other girl I heard about yesterday, who ran away with her daughter and just dissapeared started a new life in another country for her and her daughter. becuse the courts deemed her and her x husband unfit to care for her and they wanted to put her in foster care. basicly the couple seperated, the dad had the little girl for weekends and things, and was sexually abusing her. the mum worked it out and highered social workers, psycholigests and all sorts of things to help her get evidence, and then the judge decided that the child was beeing messed with emotionally and rulled that she be taken off both of them. sometimes it's a crewl old world we live in.
That's very sad, although very understandable. Sad thing is though, if this woman was ever found, she could lose her child anyway if police hadd been notified that the child was perceived to be at risk, and how do you live on the run like that for ever.
you don't. nobody can. in time it would be found out.
